SG - Esme Armstrong

A Unique Blend of Adventure & Artistry

ESME A

For Esme, adventure has never been something to watch from afar.

Her determination to challenge herself has taken her from Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards to her current pursuit of Gold, which she is completing through canoeing. Whether trekking, paddling, or leading, she thrives on the sense of purpose and resilience that comes from outdoor challenge.

Her adventurous spirit extends far beyond the DofE programme. Esme has embraced every opportunity to explore the world, taking part in school exchanges to Toronto, Canada, Johannesburg and South Africa, as well as trips to London, Italy, and Spain.

A Unique Blend of Adventure & Artistry

ESME A

From the moment she stepped on stage, Esme’s creative spark was unmistakable. A natural performer, she has been involved in performing arts since childhood, finding her voice through song, acting, and composition. Though she only began singing lessons two years ago, her progress has been extraordinary achieving Distinctions in Grade 6 and 8 Musical Theatre and now working towards her diploma.

Esme’s passion for performance has flourished at Sherborne Girls. She began without a scholarship, but her commitment and talent have earned her both Music and Drama Scholarships, a testament to her dedication. She has performed in numerous productions, including Matilda, The Three Musketeers, Legally Blonde, A Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Women, and is soon to appear as Éponine in Les Misérables.

Her artistry extends beyond performance. A songwriter since Year 4, Esme has used the school’s recording studio to produce her own music, performing at concerts and unplugged nights with both original songs and musical theatre pieces. As a member of Choir and Madrigals, and through her A Level studies in Drama, Music Technology, Creative Digital Media, and Core Maths, she continues to refine her craft with imagination and discipline.
